Anti-suicide plan excludes disabilities
This “Emergency for Montana’s people with disabilities“ (guest column, May 14) is understandable when you consider Gov. Steve Bullock’s administration believes the mistaken assumption that suicide is a rational response to a disability.
The Department of Public Health and Human Services rejected the language in House Joint Resolution 14 (http://leg.mt.gov/ bills/2017/billpdf/HJ0014.pdf).
This “ableist” mindset has no place in Montana, where we take care of our own.
